Letter from the President 7-12-2024
July 12, 2024
To the Membership of the MOPHCC,
There are times when we have to stop the hustle and bustle of life, of business, set down our handheld computers and put our laptops to sleep. Those are the times that are, unfortunately, few and far between. It's when life grabs us and makes us STOP! is when it is most troublesome. For me, that time is now. William Linek passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024. A giant in the plumbing industry has passed. And though his face won't be seen around the supply houses, or at a PEU class, or at a Board meeting, his legacy will live on! Through his family and their family business he continues to live, but more than that, through all the lives that he touched, seen and unseen! We all owe Mr. Linek a huge THANK YOU as he worked tirelessly and with great conviction for this industry that has treated us so well.
I personally did not know Mr. Linek, but I have a lot of gratitude in my heart for his as I benefit from his and all the other industry giant's work that trudged this road before him. The Board of Directors of the MOPHCC have decided to name the annual Apprentice scholarship fund given at the Christmas Part, the "William Linek Memorial Scholarship Fund." All proceeds from the price of admission to the Christmas Party, and any donations that you would like to make, will go to help fund an apprentice registered in the E-Learning program.
Thank you William Linek for your life's work. The legacy you leave behind. And mostly for living in your faith in ALL YOUR AFFAIRS!
Sincerely Yours!
David W. Smock
