Plumbing Pre-Apprentice Course

The Plumbing Pre-Apprentice online educational course is an affordable introductory course designed to help entry-level plumbing workers be productive as helpers, and assist in determining an appropriate career training path. The course offers an in-depth introduction into plumbing definitions & principles, customer service & soft skills, safety, science & math, plumbing systems & products, and troubleshooting fixtures & gas.

During this six-module course, participants will learn what is required to pursue a career in the plumbing industry, as well as key skills and techniques to help them succeed. Students must complete the 6-module course in 4 months (120 days).

The Six Modules in the course include:

  • Foundations
  • Safety
  • Science and Math
  • Plumbing Systems and Products
  • Troubleshooting (Fixtures)
  • Troubleshooting (Gas)

Apprenticeship Programs

  • PHCC E-Learning Apprentice Programs are designed for individuals who need a non-classroom based method of receiving their apprenticeship instruction.
  • This program is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration, Office of Apprenticeship, as a reasonable option for apprentice training.
  • Each course is the equivalent of one year of classroom instruction.
  • The Course is self paced so you move through the curriculum at your own speed.
  • The program is much more affordable than  traditional trade schools.
  • The course is designed to go hand-in-hand with on the job training provided by a Missouri PHCC Member Employer.
  • All E-Learning Plumbing Apprentice enrollments through the Missouri PHCC participate in a DOL-ETA approved apprenticeship program. (Missouri PHCC DOL-ETA Program for HVAC/Mechanical coming in 2023).  HVAC/Mechanical enrollees can still enroll and participate in a company DOL-ETA program.
  • PHCC Academy courses offer a consistent experience for companies training many apprentices over time, with course materials developed by industry experts.

Fast Track to Service Plumbing Course

How do you train a tech to be productive and able to run a service truck in record time? Take a look at Fast Track to Service Plumbing, available through PHCC Academy. This revamped program, originally developed by Quality Service Contractors (QSC), gives participants focused and timely service and repair plumbing training.

Students study at their own pace as the work week permits, with most students finishing in 12 – 18 months. The course includes 34 training modules critical for the success of today’s plumbing service and repair professionals. Topics include: safety, customer service, plumbing and electrical work, basic business skills, and more.

This course is not an apprentice program and it requires the supervision of a Missouri PHCC employer to monitor progress and work in conjunction with the trainee.

The course includes:

  • 34 self-paced modules
  • Is designed to be completed in 12-18 months
  • Requires employer supervision

Plumbing & HVAC Workforce Readiness Course

  • The Plumbing and HVAC Workforce Readiness Course provides individuals with an introduction to working in the plumbing-heating-cooling industry.
  • The course is perfect for high school students making decisions about careers in construction, individuals changing careers, office staff who need more industry knowledge and new employees working for wholesalers.
  • The registration fee for the Workforce Readiness course is $0. Your registration will be active for 60 days.
